Welcome to the listing for my 1998 (reg 30/3/98) mk1 mx5, this vehicle was fitted with the Rocketeer v6 kit by the previous owner to myself, using a sub 50k jaguar engine. It’s fitted with the original 5spd gearbox and a 3.6 torsen diff from a later model, the gearing suits the engine perfectly in my opinion.
Suspension is meister r… with Jackson racing anti roll bars front and back.
Brakes are uprated with willwood 4pot front kit and the larger sport rear conversion with braided hoses. (It stops really well!)
During my ownership I have added a remote oil filter housing with a thermostatic valve which opens when needed and sends oil to a 16 row cooler in front of the brand new alloy radiator I also fitted.
The rear arches were professionally sorted during the previous owners time. Various panels were painted at the same time.
Under the bonnet are davefab expansion and washer bottles. it has mk2 highback seats and a bolt in rear roll bar is fitted for a little peace of mind.
Wheels are 15x7 with Michelin ps3 tyres which have almost full tread.
There is an electric oil pressure gauge fitted next to an oil temperature gauge in the lower console under the cd player/radio. For the age of the car the bodywork is very good, however the odd chip etc can be expected.
Vehicle is taxed as of 1/4 and available for viewing anytime by arrangement as I’m currently not working, located in central Dorset.
There is far more to this car than just an mx5 with a different engine.
