Okay a few of you have been worried about the weather, okay you and me both, right I believe it may rain tonight and early morning but apparantly it should clear up by lunch time, so I am suggesting we still go ahead with the run from Ashford and hopefully the weather will be dry for tops down. We can access the weather tomorrow, I feel that if it is too cold then we should go to the pub just down the road, or have fish and chips for lunch and then if it brightens up we can have a wonder on the beach and put gazebos up etc, I think it will be last minute. com and decide on the day, I am sure we will have a good day, it was sunny and cheerful today so we will see, I will keep waving the magic wand and keep fingers crossed.
See you tomorrow and hopefully it will be a good day, I am bringing the MX-5 Shelter we used at Bromley so plenty of shelter for all, just needs putting up but for those that came to Bromley no problem.
We have just had a downpour but hoping this will clear, we have decided not to take a picnic but do pub or fish and chips for lunch today. We will not bring the shelter as this may not be easy putting up with the weather as it is, so we will do the run and then possibly have pub or fish and chip lunch and then park up in the afternoon for the beach, hopefully weather will be okay by then.
Nice to meet you chaps (and chapesses of course) this morning and sorry I couldn’t stay to chat once we got to St Marys Bay, but had a call as we arrived there and had to see a man about a rally car.
Hope the rain held off a bit longer - it certainly chucked it down up in the hills at Lyminge!
Will try to make another run some time and get to meet some more of the South East MXers.
Well done Sarah - a good turnout considering the pants weather!
Thanks to all the members that turned up for what was a very rainy day, total of 19 cars for the day, thanks for coming on the run, well we got our fish and chips and sat in the smokers shelter with the dog owners so the dogs had the odd chip or two and we all had a laugh keeping dry and ate them rather than getting soaked, then joined the rest of the 14 members in the pub for a good chin wag, alcohol refreshment and enjoyed the afternoon, we then took a stroll around the book shop and I think about 4 members came away with some decent reading matter, the weather dried up so it was down to the amusement arcade and blew all our change, 4 of us got cockles and prawns in a tub and then onto the ice creams which was real traditional English seaside grub then had a stroll on the beach and bat and ball for the remainder of the afternoon. Got home at 6pm after what turned out to be an enjoyable day despite the weather in the morning and early afternoon.
Thanks for a good day Sarah. Like Ian and Jane we got some chips and decided to eat them in the car (at least we got our chips to the car :)) but it didnt seem like the weather would ease, so rather than sit in soaking clothes we dedided to head home.
Well if the car was getting steamy you was having fun eh???
Anyway for those that wish to we will be doing the Chapel down vinyard visit and run to Hastings on the 5th September so we can grab the fish and chips and crazy golf if anyone interested, will load up the details tonight so all can view and decide.hopefully the weather may have improved by then
