Someone beat you to it.
Love that! I want one. BADLY!
Woah, maybe alter the descriptor there?
Other sources are suggesting mythical RX7 coupe successor. The MX5 established its reputation as roadster, not as a FHC. This is not a roadster.
Its a render that appeared during a corporate ESG video. At first glance, its a breathed over version of the 2017 Vision concept
Then you have the 2015 RX Vision
Then the 2010 Shinari, which was supposed to tell us what the 2020 Mazda would look like
2023 Mazda
In 2003, Mazda told us the X5 was going to look like the Ibuki, and be powered by an innovative, ahead of the curve, small capacity petrol engine with a electric motor acting like a supercharger under WOT, showing Mazda was mindful of the need to reduce emissions, and was ahead of the curve, with a hybrid sportscar
Instead, we got the NC, with a conventional engine that eventually went to power the Ford Focus
I would think more about the proposed underpinnings than what the car will look like in 2030. I can almost guarantee it won’t be this rendering, sans roof.
(if I appear cynical, it’s because of 24 years of speculation of what the “next MX5” looks like, which rarely pans out. The NC was supposed to be RX8 meets Mazda6, with a V6, the ND a mini Alfa Romeo, meets SLK meets ultra-Nostalgic. And this is with a 2-3 year horizon, not 8 year. Each generation has both lost fans and gained fans. Mazda has always wanted to win fresh converts, not so much persuade existing owners (because the job is already half done))
