Alan and Jan Martin are organising a run to Bodnant Garden, through the stunning scenery of north Wales: perfect MX5 countryside. With its hillside setting, Bodnant’s 80acres drop dramatically from manicured lawns and grand, flower-filled terraces, through buzzing wildflower meadows and shrub borders, into awe-inspiring river-side dells.
We plan to meet at Coed-y-dinas, SY21 8RP (where there are ‘facilities’) for a 10am departure on Saturday 23rd October. The journey will be about 90 miles, but the roads are such that we must expect a driving time of about 2.5 hours.
Refreshments are available at Bodnant, but we suggest we each take our own drinks, and a cake or cakes to share.
It will probably be best to explore the garden individually, before our separate homeward journeys. You may well have a more direct route home.
