About 15 MX5s over Kidstones, North Yorkshire. Friday 23rd Jan.

I’m currently at home visiting my parents up in Wensleydale and on Friday we were making our way over to Lancashire when we passed about 15 cars driving over Kidstones - that’s from Buckden/Cray in Whafedale over the tops down into Bishopdale towards West Burton.  Was that anyone on here?  I’ve looked through the events but can’t see anything.  Thought it was really strange to see so many together on a Friday run out.

I was in my mum’s Fiesta so you would have thought it a bit strange if I’d started waving!

It was a group on a day out at Croft Circuit organised by Perry’s Mazda (Blackburn) as a thank you to customers. There were a number of OC members there, particularly as two couples had dropped out due to illness and Perrys invited me ( as a customer and area coordinator) to invite suitable members from our club to fill the places. You only saw a few of us as there were at least 40 cars and Perry’s had provided a scenic route with a stop for hot chocolate at Buckden. From that point on a number of us even had the tops off despite the snow.
We all enjoyed good day at Croft with plenty of time for a number of hot laps in our own cars after hot laps in Mazda s MPS’s, skills tests in a Caterham etc.
I hope this becomes a regular event!
Regards, Jim

Sounds like you had a great day out at Croft, funnily enough I drove past there today coming back from Teesside.

I also remember seeing your car as you passed and noticed a few brave souls with the tops down!

If they have another one, here’s hoping they rotate through the list of MX5 purchasers and invite some different ones! I bought my mk2 from there in November …
