Advice needed - fitting a cone filter to a MK1 1.6

 Hello chaps,

I have bought myself a cone filter, heat shield and AFM adaptor for my 1.6 Eunos. The AFM is mounted on the air box and will need some kind of cunning bracket arrangement to support it once the cone filter is fitted. Also, will I have any problems using the filter in conjunction with the strut brace that the car has? Any advice / guidance / pictures would be greatly appreciated…  Here is the car in it’s current set up:

I had no problem with the strut brace and my K&N cone filter.  This also came with brackets to secure.  No doubt someone will come along with an idea…

I know on an old XR2i I had I secured a cone filter to the surrounding parts with a couple of strong plastic cable ties…

 Thanks Pat,

I’m pleased to hear that I should be able to retain the strut brace.

Cheers,

IanM

Here’s my old setup, it came from Japan like this. I added a bracket that clamped under the jubillee clip [that holds the cone end in place] and fastened to the bolt on the bar, you can’t see it in the pics. There is also a bracket at the front of the AFM.
