- My model of MX-5 is:_2023 2.0 Homura (with OEM Brembo)
- I’m based near: York_
- I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: Wheel fitment
Hi Looking for some brainy person to advise me if a set of wheels I have will fit my car (2023 ND 2.0 Homura with Brembo calipers) OEM fit wheels are 17". Wheels I am looking to fit are 16" Pro Race 1.2’s (That I currently use on my 2013 Fiesta ST180) and are 16" x 7" 4 x108 PCD 73.1mm. I know/think I will need to source spigot rings to fit the MX5 (?) and I guess will have to swop over the tyre pressure sensor things too as the ST didn’t have them fitted. Also need to know if they will clear the Brembo calipers. Advice would be very much appreciated.
5 x 108 won’t fit. If yours is an NC it needs to be 5 x 114.3. Spigots only adjust the centre bore not the PCD.
Pro race should clear brembo if a lower offset, OZ wheels will too.
Hi. Mine is an ND if that makes any difference? Regards
Wheels are also 4 x 108’s
Nd is 4 x 100.
I’ve got the Brembos too, they’re a ballache to get wheels for unless you use spacers.
I’ve gone for OZ ultraleggera, OZ allegerita and Konig Hypergrams
Have a look at my thread
Will do. cheers
I think the OEM BBS fit over the OEM Brembos if you see what I mean. Another option is the ZE40 Rays as seen on the AE30. These are also the wheel for the Mazda racing in the US. At one time you could get these for around 1/3 the price of UK supply from the race suppliers, the general massive increase in shipping costs from the US has probably jiggered that idea.
I know what you mean. I’m keen to try to source 16" wheels as they are quite a bit lighter.
Won’t get lighter than the OZ allegerita for the money. What’s handy about the 4 x 100 is it’s the same PCD as Renault and some others, so have a look for some in Renault fitment off the clios
Do you know the precise size to look for for a car? (fitted with Brembo calipers) Regards
It’s not as clear cut as that for Brembo clearance. It’ll all depend on spoke design as well as offset etc.
But for OZ get the lower offset option of the ones advertised and you’ll be fine.
Of the wheels I’ve had on mine:
OZ ultraleggera are et 37 7j
OZ allegerita were et37 7j
OZ formula HLT were et35 7.5j (I think)
Konig hypergram are et45 8j
Whichever wheel you get it needs to be PCD of 4 x 100 and a centre bore (CB) of no less than 54.1 - you can have a bigger centre bore (most will be) and fill the gap with spigots.
Thanks for the info
