Aggressive bikers - is this a thing?

If I tried your last one on SWMBO, I fear I’d have my nads removed with her nail clippers…slowly…while tied to a chair & have my eyeballs poked with cocktail sticks soaked in battery acid.
On a good day…

I accept your knowledge but according to my book of reference the concise O.E.D. kid is defined as a young goat, a type of leather and slang for children

Is kid leather made from goat’s and/or children’s skin then?

I don’t mean taking one out for one, I mean having a take out of one.
Bit fatty if they were fast food scoffers, but you can make soap off the dripping.
Yum.

Are you employed, doing heavy shifts, with a busy family?
i often wonder when i turn the TV on and (unfortunately) the likes of NewsWatch is on. How many of the actual ‘complainants’ work a long day job and got a busy family life? i once saw one complaining/writing in that the clock on BBC news right hand screen side was half off the screen lol talk about too much time on their hands

Perfectly fine by me that one.

She wouldn’t like me. I’ve never called anyone ‘sir’ or ‘madam’ in my life and never would lol

Is there a emoji for what’s the world coming to?

Of course kid leather is made from the skin of children - the children of goats.

I’m a retired widower with far too much time on my hands. My beloved wife of 30 years died a long, very painful death from cancer 16 years ago and my three children have all left home. There’s just me here, and a crazy 12-year old rescue cat. I try to make the best of it but people on the internet who think they are clever make it unnecessarily hard sometimes. Thanks for asking.

Agreed.

Sorry to read about that, man. Something everyone fears.

Not a fan of “So…”. I suppose it prefaces the context e.g. “So I was trying to order a pint…” like the recitals in a legal agreement that always start with “Whereas…”. You could try using that to unsettle them a bit.

“It’s a thing” I have found useful. Everybody knows what it means, and that it usually implies, to use another cliche, a “first world problem”, something frankly trivial, irrelevant or even non-existent…

Advertisers/marketing people love to invent THINGS. Before Ariel washing powder promised to get the unpleasant smells out of dirty clothes, I don’t believe I had ever heard anybody grumble about smelly washing. I’m pretty sure it became a THING, at least for a while.

More appropos for a sports car forum, when did hating wheel arch gaps become a thing? An acquaintance has a beautiful Ferrari 330 Spider, one of very few cars that I covet. It has cavernous wheel wells and arches like Roger Moore’s eyebrows at full lift.

The one that constantly irritates (and amazes) me is how many people, even on respectable MX-5 forums, incorrectly appear to believe that Mazda ever made a car called the MX5! (Not to mention how many MINI owners seem to think that they own a Mini).

Those people might not be so pernickety, as everyone knows what they’re relating to.
If that amazes you, imagine if you personally were the one who discovered that life exists elsewhere in the universe…

I’m still to be convinced that intelligent life exists here on Earth, never mind elsewhere in the universe.

In the meantime, if you feel that striving for accuracy is “pernickety”, then I feel very sorry for you.

I was going to comment on the i30 N earlier, but mistakenly wrote i30N.
I considered some people might find that both highly irritating and highly amazing.
So I quickly retracted my reply which contained the hideous nomenclature.

The green one…

The noise is probably exacerbated by the fact you’re lower down in a MX5 so nearer the source of the noise than if you were in a Chelsea tractor. I’ve taken up motorbikes in the last year or two and have had one that was a tad loud due it having a performance exhaust (not that it gave the bike any more power…). I’m always conscious of other motorists and try to be as considerate as I can. There are boneheads on bikes, and in cars/vans/trucks so sadly you will always come across the odd one now and again.
