Air con condenser replacement

  1. My model of MX-5 is: __NC
  2. I’m based near: __Bath
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: __Replacing aircon condenser. Does anyone know if it’s necessary to remove the front bumper to get access to the condenser or if it’s just a case of removing the under tray? I’m getting an aircon specialist to do the swap but thought I’d help him out a bit by getting it ready.

In my opinion I would say it’s “virtually impossible” to remove it without the bumper off.
I just can’t see how you could get to all the fittings/brackets etc without doing so. :+1:

Bumper off it’s a fairly quick job.

Quick update - no need to remove the front bumper to change the condenser- just the 3 underside panels. It’s a bit tight but by loosening off the mounting brackets it’s possible to undo the two retaining bolts and wiggle it out from the underside (cad jacked up of course)! All fixed by George of Go Cool Services in Bristol.
