Air conditioning pump removal

I have to replace the inlet water pipe, but to get access to the retaining bolts I need to remove the air conditioning pump, but I can’t see the retaining bolts.

Any ideas?

 You haven’t said which car you have, but on the Mk2 the compressor is held on by 4 horizontal bolts which screw into the side of the engine.  The Mk1 is probably the same.

What a duffer I am. Its a mk1. 

 

I saw the four bolts but the mounting bracket obstructs access. I think I need to remove the mounting bracket.

The bolt heads are 12mm and are on the side of the compressor, access to them is not normally obstructed…
