- I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on Hi just wondered if anyone has experienced there airbag warning light flashing while driving or just with the engine ticking over? It flashes in a sequence of two long flashes followed by three quick flashes of that makes sense. Thanks
A common problem can be the connection under the seat for that particular airbag, checking and cleaning the connections can fix it.
Which airbag or what the flashing sequence means I have no clue.
Do disconnect the battery if touching airbag connections.
Thanks il take a look now
Thank You for the advice I couldn’t see anything obvious apart from the plastic block of connectors was unclipped from the little bracket at the bottom of the seat so I put it back and it seems to of fixed the flashing problem out a bit embarrassing really haha but at least it was a very cheap and easy fix. Thanks again. Simon.
I have a similar intermittent problem, passenger airbag light flashes on dash, I have found recycling the Pax airbag switch seems to do something and makes it go away for while.
I will have a look at my connectors too now, thanks for reminding me of another job to add to my list.
Glad it was an easy fix, connection must have worked loose.
There’s a sequence chart kicking about, which tells you waht those flashes mean.
It might even be in the owners manual.
When mine did this, it was pointing to the passenger seat, so I took the whole seat out, sprayed contact cleaner on the terminsl and refitted it.
It’s not done it since.
Hi and a big thanks for the replies they were really useful. While I’m thinking about it my central locking hasn’t worked for a while now and I’m quite used to locking/unlocking with the key as the cars not my daily driver, it stopped working after changing the batteries to both fobs and after looking through the Manuel I’m wondering if it could be fuse or relay related? Just wondering if anyone else has tried this as a solution to there own central locking problems any thoughts would be gratefully received
You may get one not working but both, strange.
Things to check, are both complely dead?
Coincidence that both may need their battery connections teasing a little, bend the tangs slightly to contact the battery correctly. Have you inserted the batteries the correct way round?
I would normally say you’d have at least the one working.
When they were working did they lock/unlock both doors and how long ago was that since it last worked?
There’s a known problem with the solenoids failing, which is generally the drivers side.
I’m certain when mine went, the passenger door still worked.
When you press the plip, does anything happen with the indicators ?
Hi and sorry for the delay in replying, yes it used to work fine though you had to be very close to the car hence I changed the batteries in both fobs in fact after not working then I ordered more batteries and changed them both again and tweaked the metal in the fobs,I read on the forum about a sequence of opening and shutting the drivers door etc but this didn’t work haha. It’s probably been about 2 years since the central locking has worked and I’m used to just using the key as it is my second car and only used for weekends etc but I’m interested in any ideas other members may have. Thanks
Hi and sorry for the delay in replying, nothing happens when you press the fobs. Thanks
