I notice Trumps plane took on 67,251 gallons at Mildenhall, that would run my ND for while!
You notice? How does anyone ‘notice’ that??!
You piqued my interest. And actually, Air Force One took on 29,655 gallons. Two other aircraft were also refuelled - the combined total being 67,251. Let’s get it right.
Still a helluva long wait on the garage forecourt.
Imperial or US?
Morning all just quoting a report from an East Anglian newspaper, so probably not accurate, you know what journalists are like!
Must be US gallons, thats how af.mil is reporting it, and they will be issuing the press releases.

But AF1 can take nearly 54,000 US gallons

I’m presuming they took on fuel enroute to Hanoi, sufficient for the return trip. Not wanting to depend on refueling in Vietnam. And does the E4 actually land in Vietnam? Doubt it, I would think it might even stay in the air, so there may be further in-flight refuelling. It is supposed to be an Airborne communications centre, packed with presumably lots of secret electronic warfare kit.
I work with journalists on a daily basis.
To use one of his terms “Fake news”
It seems like it was a wasted trip too from what been said in the news today.
