Does anyone know about these guys? I bought a set of seats from them which I collected fine and they seemed like a decent bunch. The seats turned out not to be as advertised so it was agreed I should return them for a refund but since then I’ve heard nothing from them. I’ve called, emailed and texted but no response.
It’s not a small amount of money I’m owed - any advice or info?
They are a typical car breaker complete with indifference, priorities elsewhere, delayed delivery, slow or non returned comms, etc, etc…and that’s their version of preferential treatment of a fellow trader and before I got fed up with it, a regular customer:-) This is the price paid for relatively cheap parts!
Simply write them a letter giving say 14 days to refund you in full or you will initiate a moneyclaimonline against them.
Everyone will have a different opinion depending on how they have been treated when dealing with a company.
My experience was when I bought a part off them that was broken in half due to some very inadequate packaging when it arrived.
The response I got when telling them the problem was that they always packed them like that, never had a problem before and that I could return the part at my expense for a refund of the item.
I was out of pocket by the same amount whether I returned the broken part or threw it in the bin so did the latter.
The ‘don’t give a damn’ attitude made sure I never dealt with them again.
After a slightly bad tempered exchange on FB, it is now resolved.
Moral of the story is … when you agree to refund someone do it promptly. When you’ve made a mistake, put your hands up and get it sorted rather than waiting for the proof of your errors to be posted online.
Meanwhile, I’ve got a more reliable parts guy sorted ??
In defence of AK Automotive they supplied and fitted a secondhand Mk3 mohair hood at a very fair price and I had no problems.I saw inside the premises and the staff seem to be very busy. Not good if problems with delivery but my experience was good.
