Afternoon all. Just been out and parked up with soft top up, pressed lock on the fob. 2 mins later alarm goes off for no reason 
so now home, put the 5 to bed in the garage. Again roof up etc locked on the fob, 5 mins later and alarm goes off. Never had this before and wondering if it means fob battery needed for maybe something is over sensitive etc. Sorry should have confirmed 2007 NC1. Cheers.
Have you left a mobile phone in the car?

That is bizarre yes I did in the front lower recess to the right of the steering wheel. That was in the supermarket car park. Then at home it was still there, came in the house and realised I’d left it in the car.
This is the MX5 Mk3’s greatest unsung extra - a warning that you have left a valuable item in a soft top car. Took me a while to work it out but now fail to understand why Mazda doesn’t make more of this “extra”.

I’m experiencing the same problem, alarm goes of for no reason. Definitely not left mobile phone in car. Any ideas greatly appreciated.
