- My model of MX-5 is: __nc 3.5 1.8
- I’m based near: __st albans
- I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: __I had an alignment Monday. I’ve attached the report. The front end is better, the back end is wheelspinning off the line in town. Surely they have done the rear wrong?
These are supposed to be good
Recommended Alignment Numbers
What are your back tires like?
Tyres!
Are the pressures right? 29psi all round
Are they mismatched? Ideally should be the same make etc
Are they too old and aged hard? The older a tyre the less grip it has.
It’s cold too.
So you’re driving the same and it didn’t wheel spin before the alignment? Something a bit odd here…
Surprised a 1.8 has enough power to spin the wheels. What are you doing, redlining it and sidestepping the clutch to impress the local Chavs outside Maccy Ds?
That aside a 1.8 has no LSD and the NC has near on 50/50 weight distribution so not a lot of weight over the driven wheels.
Thanks for all the replies. I think the kumo are just rubbish in the cold and yet they are brilliant in the wet and (warm) dry. Michelins next time
