Hi, has anyone else had issues with Al power steering tank. The tank externally is the same as Plastic OEM one. However, whenever it’s fitted the fluid airates and the pump makes a terrible noise and cannot be bled. On investigation it appears to be the interplay internally between the return and suction pipes. There is no baffle (unlike the OEM part) and the returning fluid foams. Any items how to fix the AL part?
Why did you change it?
When I drive some auto solo my steering was going very heavy on last few turns. I suspect fluid was overheating (was freshly changed but persisted) so wanted to see if AL tank would cool he fluid. I have also changed fluid to Red Line synthetic. Trac day next weekend (never a problem) and Goodwood auto solo weekend after. I’ll tell you if just redline fluid use solved it.
