Alpine DAb installed

  1. My model of MX-5 is: 2010 2.0
  2. I’m based near: __
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: __

Had this installed, works very well, hands free works via Google assistant, it’s plugged into AUX through the dash, cables for the aerial and microphone ticked away nearly

Little head unit angles nicely to the driver

I fitted the same thing last week, £42 from Amazon, same as Pure Highway 600.

Very happy so far

They do a job don’t they, I’m just happy I’ve got hands free phone again as well

Did the microphone come with it??

Yes I bought it all as a kit for 249 installed

Probably expensive but couldn’t be bothered to shop around

Whether it comes as standard dunno

Yes, you get, the controller (pic), mic, receiver (windscreen), wiring loom, aerial and some sticky clips. Everything you need to install.

Installation took a couple of hours max, but I’m pretty slow. Wires hidden behind trim and clipped to avoid rattles.

pure ap on phone wasn’t very good so that threw me for a while, deleted it and everything works better without.

Yeah the app is rubbish, ice only installed it as it seems the best way to use the voice dial bottom right

Mine was £42 delivered from Amazon, now £49 I think. The pure 600 is about £75 and is exactly the same product. It used to be much more expensive, £200 plus I think

Mine is the Ezi Dab BT, whichever that one is, it allows for hands free calls and playing music off the phone

That does seem rather a lot for a sub 50
pound piece of kit that took a “slow” amateur 2 hrs to install

Can’t be bothered tbh, plus im useless

Nice compliment - ‘slow amateur’! I’m OK with that :grinning:

quite a bit of trim needs to be removed and I guess if not confident then it might be a bit daunting.

functionally it’s fine so far.

I’m rather lazy, so I’d probably try to get away with making it as neat as I can without removing too much trim.
“Slow” was your word and I didn’t mean to imply amateurish when I said amateur, maybe I should have said “non-professional”. Apologies if it came over clumsily.

I’m useless too, if it involves soldering and complicated wiring diagrams.

Lazy too, when it comes to trim removal…

not offended in the least - hence the smile. And never been paid for any work car related so definitely an amateur too.

cheers
