Having got fed up with the Sanyo SATNAV, with symptoms ranging from not reading my USB Stick or iPod, to resetting the music to the beginning, not talking to my phone, to not talking to TOMTOM traffic server or rerouting that quickly I have decided to research alternatives. I am looking at the ALPINE ILX700 with CarPlay, as a Double DIN SATNAV is extortionate and the lack of a cohesive responsibility between TOMTOM and Sanyo for faults is not good.
Has any one any experience with this in a MX5 and how easy it is to fit and where I can get the Steering Wheel Controls Working etc…

I have been looking at the Pioneer SPH DA120 which is a lot cheaper. Be aware that tomtom will not work with carplay, but if you www you can see there are ways around it.
Was considering that one, but I prefer the model up as it’s fully android auto compatible.

If you do install that unit, apparently the two USB ports are not identical. iPhones in socket 1 and others in socket two.
