Alternative arch liner clips for the NC

Hi all

Just as a heads up, I tried to save a few quid postage by getting some of the arch clips in the link below with free delivery instead of buying OEM clips from MX5 parts.

The Amazon ones look very similar and I set about replacing the ones I’d refitted with a prong missing (I’m sure we’ve all been there) but although they clunk into place and hold the plastic liner in position they rattle around and aren’t as snug as the OEM ones.

So call me a cheapskate but I didn’t need anything from the MX5 parts shop to bulk out the order and it seemed daft paying postage for a tiny bag, hence taking a chance on the Amazon ones.

Anyway, I’m going back to OEM clips and once I end up buying something from the shop to justify the deliver charge I’ll add some to the order. If this post stops anyone wasting time and money (admittedly a very small sum) then it was worth posting.

PS I wish MX5 parts would just do a very small postage charge for something tiny.

I get my clips from here…

I bought a huge selection of clips off Ebay for about 5 quid delivered. Enough arch liner ones to supply the forum…

That’s interesting.

I followed the Amazon link and instantly identified the seller as one of our customers.

I ran a sales report and found that he buys those clips from us.

 

I’ve replaced a lot of these on my NC in various places, front wheel arch, undertray, and not had any problems with them.

I just noticed the Amazon image may be the incorrect clip.

Do the ones you have, have the serrated edges on the prongs.

 

I suspect that you bought the wrong clip.
