am i too old

hi all i had an mx5 when they first come out,  now i fancy another one the problem is im now 60, will i look like im an old man thats trying to recapture his youth ?

Who cares, when you’re enjoying yourself

You only live once. Do it. It’ll take years off you anyway.

Agreed…Age is but a number as they say. If it feels good…DO IT [Y]

I bought my Roadster in 2000, when I was aged 55, still going strong and travelled halfway round the world. Age is no barrier so long as you are fit enough to drive…

I don’t think you fall outside the existing demographic

… and more importantly get in and out [:D]

That’s what chain hoists are for—

You are only 60, blimey I wish I was that age again[:D] I was 71 when I bought my first Roadster and I am now 73 and still going strong after having two total knee replacements done this year.

I love driving my Eunos Roadster more than my “comfortable” Rav 4 and I have had a lot of pleasure refurbishing the roadster  since I bought it.

My advice would be to buy a Eunos Roadster, that needs a little TLC, rather than the UK version as the Eunos has air conditioning, electric windows and speakers in the seat headrests. They, the Mk1s, are a better buy for your money and buying one at this time of the year shouldn’t cost too much either.

Too old???

bloody hell matey that’s rubish, as long as you leave room for the zimmer you’re OK. [:D]

my pal & i go out on a drive (he’s 66, i’m 61) & my wife say’s we look like acouple of old tarts on the pull. i think that’s a joke but she means well.

keep going, it keeps you young.

[B]hi allan, you will only feel a bit self concious for the first ten mins, after that, you wont give a damn,  enjoy your new found freedom,  i bought mine as a retirement prezzy to myself,  at 64, and ive now owned it for three years, and as my original parting piece on the old forum said,

I NOW KNOW THE MEANING OF SMILES PER MILE   regards  leemarb

ps  a meerie chistmas too alll us oldy oness   [B] [B]  hic hic,

and a merry christmas to the rest of you nice people

You’re only as old as you feel, and driving a 5 proves the point.  It takes years off you.
Bought my first one after I retired and love every moment of driving it. Always wanted one so thought I’d better get one while I’m still supple enough to get in and out of it.[;)]  As you can see, there are plenty of us ‘Old Gits’ out there saying 'You don’t wanna do that…  You wanna get a 5 ’
Go for it.
