Amount of clutch fluid?

So my clutch slave cylinder has gone. Not a big or unusual problem, from what I read. So I’ve ordered a new one from mx5parts.

My only question (at the moment) is how much clutch fluid will I need to completely drain and replace what is there? My girlfriend was shopping, so I asked her to get me some, and she came back with 250ml. Is this enough? Or should I take it back unopened and buy 500ml? (Surely 1L is overkill!?)

 I would say 500ml.  As it would be a good idea to change the fluid completely with a new cylinder.  One thing is certain, if you buy 500ml. you will use less than half, if you start with 250ml you will not have enough!  Also  small bottles of brake fluid are very expensive so 500ml should not cost much more.
