Android auto maps

  1. My model of MX-5 is: __nd
  2. I’m based near: __
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: __i had android auto installed a couple of days ago by Mazda when I select maps I can’t type in a destination there must be something simple that I am missing any help thanks

On some units typing function is disabled unless stationary with the handbrake on . Just a suggestion

I tried that made no difference

Can you verbally tell your Android maps unit where you want to go?

“Hey Google, take me to the Red Bull Pub in Wobblyvillage” perhaps?

Alternatively, if you call up Google maps on your phone, and enter your destination there, that ought to show up on your car’s head unit

I haven’t tried voice command I will try it if I enter the destination on my phone then connect it. it will show up but that’s a bit of a nuisance having to do that every time

You need to go to the search box and press it using the infotainment controller wheel. I always find doing it on the phone first is better as scrolling through the keyboard is quite slow.

when I do that no key board comes up only previous destinations

I use Waze on my android auto … Works a treat

When you get this list go to Search all destinations and click on that, then the keyboard comes up.
