Hi everyone,
I saw this on a Japanese website but no idea what it is!
Any ideas.
Ofiaich!
USB reading lamp ?
Yes, looks like a small reading light to me. Why you’d need one there is anyone’s guess though!
Also, the HVAC temp dial has different markers on it - mine is marked 15/22/29 degrees. Strange little differences…
It’s an auto too, did we get those in the UK?
An Auto option in the UK was RF-only, as far as I’m aware.
Only auto soft top NDs I’ve seen have been imported.
My 2026 Homura soft top has auto A/C, as did my Mazda based 2018 Fiat 124 Spider.
Compare the temperature markers on the dial…
Good job you are able to read the information ![]()
I think they were talking about the auto gearbox.
Hi mxmatosis,
Keeps me on my toes! Some Japanese advertisements are very funny!

I was responding to this bit of the conversation after someone mentioned the auto gearbox:
“My 2026 Homura soft top has auto A/C, as did my Mazda based 2018 Fiat 124 Spider.”
USB reading lights, HVAC controls, auto gearboxes - it’s all going on in here!
According to AI :-
This is a Seiwa flexible USB-C LED light.
Features a flexible arm.
Has a touch sensor switch for operation.
Offers 7 color switching and rainbow illumination.
Includes a convenient memory function.
I wonder what the convenient memory function remembers ![]()
Hi Art_Tidesco,
AI is correct, that’s how I read it. Sometimes AI makes mistakes when translating Japanese to English and English to Japanese.
The convenient memory function is shown at the bottom of the picture -
便利なメモリー機能 Convenient memory function
使用時 during use 使用後 after use 再使用時 when reusing ( when you switch on the car again.)
It reads that the convenient memory function remembers the state the light was in when the cars engine is switched off.

Handy Andy indeed ![]()
Hi Art_Tidesco,
Thanks
planning my 24th trip to Japan now.
I have been to the famous tourist places many times but have also had the privilege being accepted into my friends family as a family member would be and was invited to a baptism, visiting graves in August (Obon) and gave a speech in Japanese at my friends wedding. Soooo many good things to remember, I also experienced extremely tough times whilst working there.
Now is the time to plan a visit because the Yen is very weak against the pound!
There is a thread here with some Japanese photos. I’ll check for a link later.
Edit- it’s called All things Japanese! Shows some information about the first Englishman , William Adams, to arrive in Japan,
