What’s your oil consumption like? Mine’s had 600-700ml in about 2,000 miles from new, which seems a lot compared to what I’m used to. On the Mazda 3 the dipstick is under a beauty cover and I get the impression they don’t expect many owners to use it, but there is an amber oil level warning light fitted. The handbook says to.put a whole litre of oil in if that comes on.
Mine doesn’t seem to use any at all, I kept an eye on it over the first year and 10k miles then checked it after its first service in March must admit haven’t looked since 
Hmmm. It’s an auto (ugh) so I can’t really run it in properly, apart from not ragging it for the first couple of thousand miles. I wondered if the X engine naturally used more oil than an MZR or SkyActiv-G.
