Anyone recognise this modded ecu?

Hello
I have acquired a B63H ecu, removed from an early Eunos 1.6 car.
Intriguingly it has a Japanese technical specialist sticker on it and a serious mod involving the main chip - see photos. The Japanese company were involved with racing back in the day, so I am hopeful this is a useful racing mod, perhaps rev limiter increase, etc.
Anyone, any idea what this is?

I recognise the 32K x 8bit EPROM from the 1980s, and the smaller long thin IC with top scrubbed off is probably a PAL. I used them in one of my designs back in the Z80 and 64180 days before moving over to single chip MCUs with Flash ROM and RAM built in, like the Atmel 8051 series.

And no I have no idea what’s in there, or any means of getting into these days. We binned all the emulators and clip-on diagnostics in the early 1990s. The later chips had enough resource to build in all the diagnostics.

The EPROM will have the maps, but need UV erasing and a special programmer. I used to have a home made programmer for 12,5V like that one, but binned it when Flash appeared.

Presumably the date when this was fitted was 12th February 1996.

Ask on MazdaRoadster.net

Thank you and yes, a fair assumption that the date is 12/2/96.
I will attempt to post on that forum and report back if any useful response

I did a quick search on MP5273, and found https://www.mx5nutz.com/threads/interesting-results-with-ecu-chip-reading.123026/page-2
