Anyone with an S-Special?

Picking up an S-Special on the weekend.

No rust in the key areas, other than the usual kick plate. Been in the UK for around 8 years, with 2 UK owners.

Does this sound like a good purchase? I gather that S-Specials are not very common (red interior and in black).

Sadly one of the seats will need some refurb and the wheels, while nice are not originals.

What do you think this should be worth? Will tell you the purchase price shortly, just after re-assurance the price is okay!

Looking forward to picking her up

Can’t really tell you whether its good value or not without knowing the price, age, mileage etc…

G’day mate, Welcome to the Forum

There are lots of bargains around these days so I reckon that you probably paid around £650 and that’s ok…joke[;)]

Hey

I have an s-special although mine has a black interior. I paid £850 for mine, and it does have a couple of spots of rust bubbling on the sills that need sorting, but otherwise its in really nice condition. Should come with Bilstein shocks a couple of braces and BBS alloys as far as I know. I also think they have lightened flywheels, but I might be wrong. How much is it going for etc?

Black with red interior is a S-Limited, not S-Special. S-Special was just a normal trim level.

Correct - I have an S-Special and it has all of the bits and bobs but a black interior.

If its red it aint an S - Special.

If you post more details of the car as Geoff suggested I am sure lots of people will give you their opinion on price.

I’ve got a S-Special - Laguna Blue with yellow strut brace, BBS alloys, Bilstein suspension & black trim. I’ve also been told that it’s got a limited slip.

I reckon its an awesome car, handles superbly. If only I could stop the o/s indicator/side light from getting condensation!!!
