Hi all i have just had fitted apple car play for £269 (not including service !) at a local Mazda dealer Romford Mazda RM5 3ND
when i had the 4th year service.I thought that this is a reasonable price. My local dealer wanted £350
cheers Martin.
That does seem a good price
Was it a special deal they were advertising as I’m thinking of going the Android Auto/ Apple CarPlay route?
Thnx
It might be that Mazda have dropped the price for the unit itself, it is currently listed for £193.78 including related accessories (manual and USB cable).
So that plus the cost of installation would probably put it around £269 considering installation involves removing a fair bit of trim if the lower unit with the USBs is being replaced.
Hi Chris just asked for a quote, they didn’t say it was a special offer but if the price of the parts have dropped it would make more sense.
cheers Martin
Thanks Martin,
At a dealer’s two weeks ago, I saw leaflets advertising £350 which put me off a bit. (My ND has a USB so I did wonder if that might reduce the cost)
Armed with your info, I shall make enquiries
I believe all NDs came with USBs, however, they only output 1 Amp so aren’t best for charging devices.
From what I have seen a new USB unit is installed with the Car Play installation (noted by the phone symbol next to the top USB port) which outputs 2.1 Amps for charging devices etc.
Wow, good price! Has anyone had a similar deal offered in the Somerset/Wiltshire area please? At £269 I’m seriously tempted. I’ll have a ring around in the meantime and report back.
