Are these sequential indicators legal for road use in uk? 🤔

€229!!! Deffinately value for money, not :joy: I’d rather use arm signals in a blizzard

Ok… so I have bought and installed the MX-5 Parts version in my Mk 4 RF. Are we still worried these may invalidate our insurance if clocked in an insurance inspector’s evaluation in the rare occurence of a crash, or fail the upcoming MOT test. Google searches reveal that factory installed sequentual indicators (ie.The ones on most Audi vehicles) aren’t to be failed, but there still seems to be a vague answer on retro fit LEDs.
Thoughts?

From the MOT Inspection Manual.

“Direction indicators that function sequentially/dynamically are not to be considered a reason to fail.”

Not E-marked, so not legal. MX5parts are skirting on thin ice in their description.

If having a novelty indicator light makes people more likely to use them, then surely that’s a positive.

I’ve had them on mine for I think 4 MOTs and never been an issue.
