I have been running MX-5’s since 1997 and have always fancied treating myself to a brand new one.
Having had a minor stroke last year at the age of 70 and luckily making a complete recovery, last week I decided to bite the bullet. Nothing too fancy but ideal for me…a Prime Line in aero grey.
I managed to obtain a £3.5K reduction on the price with mats and mud flaps included. Also a good trade in price for my eight year old Arctic with 35k on the clock.
After being seriously ill in 2022, i decided to buy an MX-5. It took me a few months to recover and in April 2023 i got my car, the best one i have ever owned…so far.
My first MX-5 (second hand ND1) followed successful lung cancer surgery, I couldn’t cycle and get out in the countryside anymore and it was really getting to me, that car was the best therapy ever.
In June I had heart surgery and on the first day I was allowed to drive again I took out a new demo car. Tomorrow I pick up a new Homura, well it was a quadruple bypass after all .
Must admit when we took delivery of our 12 miles “old” Swift 2 years back after selling both our Mazdas, there was something special about that show-room new car scent. It still has it…we neither smoke or eat in it. Little things like the paper protectors in the boot and rear footwells. and The Peel Off of the transparent stuff on the controls and Nav Scree. Like popping bubble pack.
Had an NC for 15 years and enjoyed multiple trips to Cornwall and toured northern Spain and Jersey. Decided I needed a bit more comfort and treated myself to an RF GT Sport Tech for my 80th birthday and am loving it.
