Let us know how you get on as I am intereested in a bluetooth unit like this too

Hi Andy, I have fitted one of these, but an older model. I managed to fit the lead into the back of the rear of the Bose CD changer in my 2.0 sport 2008 without removing the unit!.

I fitted the microphone on the top of the steering column. I do not use it much as when I bought it I thought it would detect a call coming in but you need to be on the second CD setting, so only use it if I am awaiting for the call.

I also found that I have to play about with the blue tooth settings as it does not want to connect automatically each time.

It may because mine is older, but if you are connecting it to the external port (for an external CD player?), then it will not auto switch.

Hope you have a better experience then me!

Cheers

Derek

Hi Derek

Very impressed that you managed to fit lead without removing unit. You must have slid it forward surely? However it sounds like it is not the perfect solution. I will give it a try and see.

Hi Meneer

yes it is identical to the one you are looking at. I got it from MX5 parts.co.uk

Update

I have just fitted the unit, which was actually pretty easy. There is a space between the radio and the glovebox where it can stay and you can still pull it out if needed. Connected to my 'phone straight away and streamed music as expected. Can be completely controlled from the steering wheel. When the 'phone rings, it mutes the sound and then you can flick through to CD2 channel to answer the 'phone, unless of course you are already listening to music there. So first impressions are good, but time will tell.

Further update on Audiolink.

Excellent music streaming, but pretty useless phone handling. Can sometimes answer phone by using phone itself, but cannot answer using FF button on stereo as it simply cuts off call. can ring out using phone when on CD channel.

Overall if music steaming is your priority, this is great. If you want to use your phone hands-free, get a Parrot.
