- My model of MX-5 is: MK1 1991 auto 1.6
- I’m based near: Coventry
- I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: converting to manual
Hi all, I’m currently converting to manual with a manual engine, manual ecu and gearbox. I decided to be a little bit lazy and not swap the entire loom thinking they would be the same mostly. I cut and spliced the auto loom to fit the neutral and reverse switches in. Now I’ve put the engine in and realised the airbox and TPS are different plugs and slightly different in design. does anyone know if I can cut these plugs off the manual loom and what wires I would put them into the auto one? I’ve been looking at wiring diagrams in the Mazda workshop manual but it confuses the ■■■■ out of me.
I’ve had a suggestion that you can run the auto TPS on the manual engine and leave the auto airbox on the manual engine. Anyone tried this before?
