Hi just wanna pick your brains about suspension I’ve got a mk1 mx5 but the shocks are knackard I’ve spoken to a mx5 race car prep company(Cotswold jimnys) and they said to go for a set of avo coilovers,so are they any good? I was going to go for a set of Meister r’s but there both about the same price and also it seems the avo’s are good for height adjustment being I’m running 13inch hayashi wheels and the car is already very low
I’d have the AVO
are they good then?? Mainly the car will be road use but will get tracked
We have raced Avos and we currently race meister r,s on our mk1. The Avos were good, but the Meisters are better. More adjustment and easier to adjust. The car simply was quicker on them. We also have Meisters on a road legal mk3 and the ride quality is absolutely fine on the softer settings. If they are the same price, the more modern Meistrs would probably be the better choice. But I wouldn’t dismiss the Avos if they were cheaper and you are on a budget. I still have ours in the shed and plan to use them again in the future on a track car.
