It’s almost time to think about new tyres for my NC 2008 Sport.
I have read on here that many members recommend Khumo, for a good balance of price and performance, but I cannot find a dealer for them in Frome (where I live), and am not interested in travelling twenty-odd miles to get them.
So, have any members had any experience of Avon ZV7s, which my local stockist has on special offer at the moment ?
I bought mine online from blackcircles at about £70 each, then chose the fitting option using my local ATS. The price I paid blackcircles was all in, including fitting so had nothing to pay ATS. I see they have a branch in Frome.
You would need to check but the price I paid was inclusive of fitting etc. Mine is a 2.0 2006 sport too. It was no more than £145 per axle pair last year. And the Khumo is a great tyre
Try your local garage, I did.
I got a delivered price from Blackcircles (to my address) then a price to fit at my local garage, they were to charge £14 per corner.
What tyre do you want fitting he asked when enquiring about the fitting price? I told him Kumho PS71, he returned with a better price than Blackcircles and including fitting and tracking checked and adjusted around £15 lower.
Yep not a massive saving but he got them the very next day locally and also he said I’ve got you the higher speed rating than Blackcircles would have sent for the price.
Think they were glad I gave them my business, during the earlier lockdown situation here in July they were busy enough but glad I used them.
Hi, I got the Avon’s in 215 flavour and they are great , plenty sticky in the dry, look good ,this time of year?
not so sure as it’s sorn.
I don’t believe they’d be any worse than anything else In these greasy/ leafy conditions.

I have Kumho on my 5 which are great, my other car was due a new set and was considering Avon ZV7’s but a friend who owns a mobile tyre fitting company won’t supply Avon anymore as he claims they go hard and crack too quick, even changing low mileage tyres only 18 months old. Went for Toyo in the end.
I would echo RichK’s friends opinion. I had ZV7s for the last 2 years and 20K miles, daily driver, and when I was servicing my NC I noticed bad cracks on all 4 tyres on the inside face. Still had lots of tread left though.
I’ve just changed to Michelin PS4s which I know will wear a little faster but I hope won’t crack before I need to replace them due to wear.
