Awesome North Yorkshire Run

Just wanted to mention the Butter Tubs Pass which is a fantastic drive out… Five of us in various convertibles including three MX5’s, a Mercedes SLK and a Chrysler Crossfire  headed North yesterday going through fantastic countryside starting at Clitheroe, then Waddington, a quick coffee stop at Slaidburn then on to Ingleton and Hawes before reaching the Butter Tubs… An absolutely fantastic drive out with some great guys and their wives who had a great fun day with a stop off for lunch near Castle Bolton at the Bolton Arms at Redmire before driving thru Masham and into Ripon for the night… Anyone who has never been up there to the Butter Tubs needs to have a drive out because you will not be dissapointed…

Happy motoring, Andy.

Don’t you just love censorship! I agree that we can’t do without it but it does raise a smile!

Richard.

When its too wet to do the run, you can always enjoy most of it from the comfort of your armchair at home

Great country side and roads newly re surfaced for The Tour de Yorkshire

Thanks for the Youtube post, just watched it twice and brought some great memories back…can’t wait to drive up there again

Good job I didnt mention I live near Scunthorpe - phanarr

Hey Delpel thanks for that… I was surprised it got censored in the first place because I’m told some people struggle to find the Clitheroe town… Ooops it happened again !!!

Ok, so where can I not organise club runs to?
The Peak Cavern in Castleton is known as The Devil’s Arse, http://www.peakcavern.co.uk/
cutting over the tops we could go on to Tittesworth Reservoir ! http://www.staffsmoorlands.gov.uk/sites/default/files/documents/pages/Tiottesworth%20Visitor%20Guide_0.pdf

Where can you not go in your neck of the woods?

I’m all over it Burtonm… keep em coming !!! Its a good job I wasn’t going to that lovely vilage of Fingringhoe near Colchester (C05 7BG)

Some good ones at http://googlesightseeing.com/2009/02/top-10-rudest-place-names-in-britain/

It has always intrigued me how they answer the phone at Twat Post office on Orkney, ’Good morning, Twat’?

Incidently the word also means to hit with a hammer, not sure if that’s is one or 2 t’s

Probably not a very good driving route as there is only around 40 miles of road and over 100 miles by ferry but it could make an interesting trip. How about Twatt on Orkney to Twatt on Shetland?

Dooh! Burton beat me to it!

Ha Ha quality… I’m getting the feeling that this might continue for a while lol…

I’m off to Shitterton for a Bere Regis (A35) before it gets out of hand lol… Yep knew it was coming

You are correct Burton its an oft used saying in our area TWA- the ----ing thing !!

Glad you enjoyed the trip Andy, there’s a few more in the pipeline and who knows? you may even be allowed on our “Lads only” secret motorbike roads
