Back to an NC1 after a decade

Hi there,

I’m Andy, and I have come full circle, via a twin turbo BMW and a Cupra. In a whole decade of driving, I spoke about one car above all the others.

My basic 1.8 NC1 in midnight (Stormy?) blue.

Anyway, the wife has finally given in and I’ve just picked up this lovely 2.0 Sport! Drove it home with a ridiculous grin on my face the whole way.

Looking forward to meeting like minded owners soon.

I expect to get some use out of the car during winter, so I had a couple of questions:

  1. Within the Braintree, Sudbury & Colchester triangle, are there any decent shops that can do undersealing and cavity wax injection?

  2. I now have a very unaffordable shopping list of maintenance items/upgrades to get. What does everyone recommend to pick up first?

The car is in great shape with some minor surface rust and I have a full car cover, but keen to ensure I maintain it to the previous owner’s standards. I think he may have been a club member…

Thanks in advance for any advice given.

Andy

P.s. Thanks to Vic in Sudbury for inviting me to join.

Welcome along, a good purchase :grinning:

I’m sure you will get advice about services local to you, if not on here (and have a search too) then through your local Area, you’ll be able to find contact/meeting details at the link below if you haven’t already.

Not quite in that triangle but you could talk to Vincent’s Motor Works in Stradbroke

They are MX-5 Specialists and do all the servicing, MOT, maintenance and protection work on our NC
Highly recommended and well worth the drive in my opinion
