I’ve just downloaded a map update to my SD card and thought I selected to backup the card at the same time but there’s no backup of the card’s contents in C:UsersmynameAppDataRoamingMazdaackups where I expected to find it. Checking the Mazda Toolbox FAQs shows there’s no way to back up the card at a later stage so I wondered if it was possible to clone the car’s SD card to another 16GB SD card to have as a backup. Anyone any thoughts?
You can use this. Don’t really need to clone the card, just save the contents to an image file on your pc. I’ve used it with my Raspberry Pi SD cards quite a lot. It doesn’t even need to be installed, just run the exe file.

Thanks Ian, just what I needed to know.
I tried the Win32diskimager at the weekend and it cloned my satnav SD card without any problems. I now keep the original mazda card with my car’s paperwork at home and use the cloned card in the car. Might seem like overkill but I now run an unofficial version of the Android Auto headunit app (from AIO tweaks website) on the Mazda infotainment system instead of the proprietary satnav, but I need to pop the SD card out to get Android Auto to run properly, so it would be easy to lose.
