Bandit is coming

Waiting for next Spring :tulip:
A little ND, a little C3 (… not Citroën ).
The coupé looks good.

While it looks good, te odds are stacked against it. I’ve seen more developed projects fail in better times.

The company has missed a trck not being more fortwith about the EV powerplant. If anything, a car like this should have been designed around the EV not a Ford motor.

And flax; wasn’t that used to make the Trabant?

£60k each??? Well, that’s cooked its goose. Obviously a company run by comedians.

To the contrary I think it’s positive that entrepreneurs are trying to keep british sportscars alive and kicking. Not sure about the plant based chassis though, will regular woodworm treatment replace waxoyl?

I’ve seen so many better described projects in better times come to nothing, so I don’t have high expectations.

It seems the Flax material was the result of a Dutch student university project from a couple of years ago, so maybe the objective isn’t actually this car as such. Its more about commercialisation of some IP.

This is why

No actual running prototypes seem to exist; everything released seems to be a photoshot “artists impression”.

Oh, and that artist is Lithuanian…

While wishing them well it unfortunately seems to me to be a combination of pie in the sky and wishful thinking. Too many things against it’s success, not least the economic and political situation, not just here but worldwide. There is probably more likelihood of the PRC landing on the moon and building a base there in 2021 than there is of the Berkeley Bandit being a commercial success in the same year. Sorry!
