I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: __Battery poles
Help! The battery was flat today, left a door open for a couple of days, so no excuse. However, the positive terminal was loose, and both poles seem to have spacers. The battery is apparently for an NC, but I just wonder if I should get a different battery with thicker poles.
I’ve had 4 of those Yuasa batteries on various cars over the years, some with the battery pole spaces. Never had a problem but have noticed the battery clamps bolts on the connectors need to be tightened right up to get it to firmly hold. If the threads are going on the bolts try some new ones or try some washers behind the nuts, it may grip tighter.
Agreed.
Also make sure the inserts are fully all the way down on the slightly conical posts for best fit.
Thank you!
Thank you. Was in such a rush I managed to drop both clamps down the engine so I had to strip the whole box out!
The J bolts for the clamp, it’s a common ish occurance?
Tip, fasten the J bolts a few threads through the black battery clamp, then lower the clamp into place. You can then twist the bolt end in to hook up to the lower part of the battery cover., once hooked in tighten up.
You won’t lose the bolts this way, I’ve been guilty in the past of dropping the bolts or nuts😁
