Does anybody have experience of these providers or alternative providers?
I knew it was coming and shouldve looked into insurance first I know, but i got a little over excited and did the mod first lol.

Have you tried Peter James through the Club scheme?

If not Flux seem to meet a lot of people’s needs.

Too many variables in insurance to say what will work for who.

My experience of insuring my BBR’d MX-5 is that Adrian Flux and Greenlight were the only insurers who were really interested in quoting for modified cars.

I’m with Greenlight, no problems at all.

Thank you for your time and the confidence your feedback gives me.

I have gone through the Adrian Flux website and they will call me tomorrow.

I’ve been with Greenlight for a number of years on my BBR Turbo ND (~75 mods) and they’ve been great.

Admiral are not too bad for mods from what I hear.

Be extra vigilant with the details that are carried through but was surprised at the results through compare the market (meerkat).

Only mod on my Mk1 are coilovers but also got a quote with turbo etc and it was only £50 more but a significant increase in excess.

Hi.
Hopefully we were able to give you a competitive insurance quotation.
Regards,
Dan.

Yes. All done. Great service, thank you.
I will happily recommend in future.

I used Footman James - even had to double check their rate was correct - 3x cheaper than Flux, Compare and others!

Now you have your insurance sorted, would love to hear your thoughts on the BBR 200 kit.

I have my BBR Super 200 insured with Howden. They cover all the mods and are excellent to deal with.

Well… awesome!
I enjoyed my 2006 2.0 sport from the start and have made efforts to keep it serviced and tlc’d in places that i’ve read here in the forum to look after eg changing transmission oil, diff oil, coolant etc
Then, the bug hit me after hearing about all the wonderful things that can enhance the experience further.
SuperPro polybushes, then yokohama neuva tyres, then stainless steel custom exhaust. When the rear nearside spring snapped on a motorway exit slip I decided to replace the 70k+ Bilsteins and after consultation settled on Eibach lowering springs and a new set of Bilsteins (B12).
Then this year I decided that I would replace the near 20yo radio with a MM Head unit and wait until 2026 to scratch the BBR itch.
Nope, couldnt wait and in it has gone. BBR Super 200 and yes it is Super!
The car was well looked after and a (serious) electrical fault was picked up and repaired for me at the same time by the BBR guys (Thanks).
The drive home was electric, albeit we had just had a thunder and lightening storm. Carefully I tested the throttle response and it just kept giving. The driving engagement and enjoyment has just increased exponentially and I am lucky to have petrol head neighbours, young and old, that love the sound of it.

On the tempoary downside, my offside rear toe arm had rusted through and the extra torque load may have helped it snap. Various enquiries led to no OEM replacement’s being available and typically the next most reasonably priced were on a seven week delivery… so Hardrace toe arms have been ordered though Bofi Racing and I am eagerly awaiting their delivery so that the car can get back on the road.
Hopefully, once I have been able to drive it more, I will remember to come back and give a more specific review.
Thanks for asking
Hope to see you at the National in September. I will be with the Oxford Branch.
