I’ve got some 14" old BBS wheels looking really tatty on my mk1 and they need centre caps? Im pretty sure they’re genuine (photos attached) + External measurements are 151mm on the outer, and the inner ring is roughly 68mm.
Problem is i have no knowledge of what they came off before, and none of the ref numbers needed to buy new caps. Its bit of a minefield… Im not necessarily looking for the genuine ones just the cap that covers up the bolts and fits.
Can anyone give me some much appreciated advice and get this old girl looking good again?!
Thanks
In addition, if you fit the caps (expensive!), you will need to change the wheel nuts to an open type.
The problem is there are a lot of different BBS centre caps, that fit differently. The Mazda ones lock on, and a set of them costs almost the same as a set of new wheels (albeit cheap new wheels).
There seem t be some Chinese “replicas” about
These “replicas” don’t seem to function like real BBS caps, they seem to be all plastic and a push fit (the BBS is aluminium, with a plastic “nut” head).
Yeah i placed an order the other day, but saw they’re out of stock and only seem to offer one size.
Thanks for the advice - very helpful - Shame the DHGate site only offers 16 + 17cm versions though… Otherwise they exactly what im looking for! Cant afford the real deal just yet.
