BC Coilovers - ideal damper settings for 3.5/3.75 please!

Guys - apologies if this has been covered elsewhere…

Just had BC coilovers fitted. The handling is amazing, the car corners beeyootifully…

The sweet ride, however, (at least, in my humble opinion) of the stock set up has gone, and what I have now is akin to a BMW on run flats. The damper settings are currently 16 on the front and 14 on the rear (from soft).

Am I going to be able to recapture the ride quality that I had on the OEM springs and Bilsteins, or do I accept that I am now on ‘racing’ suspension and put up with having my fillings shaken out?

In particular, I am keen to hear from peeps with BC coilovers fitted to their 3.5/3.75, and their chosen settings, but any advice gratefully received…

I’ve had BC racing BR coilovers on my NA for a few years now, it took a lot of experimentation with spring compression and damper settings before I found my ideal setup, but worth the effort. I have the springs very firm and dampers on soft settings for road use and just firm up the dampers for trackdays. Its not the most comfortable ride but the handling is amazing.

Depending on the spring rates and the tyre sidewall stiffness, if they’re similar to MeisterRs 16/14 is hard for road use. I run 12/10 -11/9 on 7/5 springs. If you got a very stiff sidewall you may end up at even less.

Cheers - I’ll need to check with WIM what the spring rates are, and then start experimenting. The rear, especially, seems to thump quite a bit over bumps. Am concerned that the firmness might start loosening bits of trim as well, and I really don’t want rattles…

Regarding tyre sidewalls, no idea, but they are the standard Bridgestone Potenzas that come with the car, although I did take the pressures down from 34 to 29 psi.
