Belgium (Spa) Grand Prix August 22-23-24 any one going?

Just got a really good deal on the inter web for a 3 day pass for the Belgium Grand Prix in August. Any one else going?

Brian.

Would love to but have other commitments. I went last year and it was awesome. Where will you be sitting or do you have a general admission ticket? We were in the grandstand at Eau Rouge. Just phenomenal seeing the cars go through there at full tilt. The TV coverage doesn’t give you any real sense of how steep that hill is. We went on the track after the race and it was quite a climb. The only downside was the food so unless you are happy with burgers, hot dogs and frites with mayo, I suggest you take your own food. We also parked at the circuit but be warned, it took us well over an hour to get out after the race as it’s all winding back roads.

We stayed in Liege and took the opportunity to go across the border into Germany and visited Aachen. Also tried the spa at Spa but wasn’t too impressed with that. All said and done, it was a fantastic weekend.

Hi Pete,

thanks for the info, we have a general ticket for the 3 days, camping or maybe glamping!!! A bar-b-que is like a spare wheel to us (a must) so should be ok for food!! Pretty much figured that getting out would be a problem, they always are.

Thanks and regards,

Brian.

Where did you get your deal from? I think I’m more likely to go to spa than the british gp as that is so expensive these days.

By the time you’ve thrown in the cost of the ferry, petrol, accommodation and food I think you’ll find it’s more expensive than Silverstone! Still worth the money though. Spa is a fantastic circuit and steeped in history. Brian, if you have time and stay after the race weekend, you can still drive most of the original circuit (all that is outside the current circuit). Didn’t get a chance to do it myself but wished I had.
