Benefit of exhaust heat shield over heat wrap?

Evening all,
As suggested, I’d like to know if there is a notable difference in engine bay temp as a result of removing the exhaust manifold heat shield, if the header is then properly wrapped in the fabric wrap for heat protection instead?

Anyone any idea?

Wrap will keep the temperature down better than a heathshield, but will accelerate manifold failure. Ceramic coating of the manifold was de rigeur a few years back.
