You know with most other (non MX-5) convertible drivers, no sun it’s top up.

Nice one. Proper convertible driver :+1:

I haven’t had my roof up since, off the top of my head, just before the start of Cornavirus, when it started raining heavy while was having the car serviced, so all the top was wet when I drove off, so couldn’t of course put it down anyway,
I remember in April '22, again just after having it serviced, it was due to have mega rain. Anyway, this came in about 9 miles from home. I managed to ‘beat’ the rain, still having the top down as I hardly had to stop. Got back, roof up (doing it from outside the car), then the half covers on lightening quick  I was quite proud of myself if I do say so

The roof hasn’t been up on my TR6 for 30 years if that counts. On the Mazda it goes down whenever the opportunity arises although I did recently buy a hardtop for the winter because I got fed up with the hood going green. Strangely the soft top is more water tight than the hardtop.

TR6 fab car well done on 30 years :heart::pray:

Until 18 months ago I was a militant top down driver unless it was raining when I set off, and even then sometimes I’d take a chance it would stop raining before I reached my destination.

Most fun was getting caught out on the Exeter to Lands End leg of my 16 hour drive from John O Groat’s to Lands End. Kept faith when it started tipping down just as I passed by Exeter and by the time I reached Oakhampton it was dry, remember a Z3 passing me with the roof up and giving him a wave.

More recenetly I have not had the luxury of spending 3 days in bed with a diet of bananas and Lemsip to recover from occasional colds. Anything below 5 degrees I’ll keep the roof up as a nod to my carer responsibilities for my 89 year old man who is very fragile.
