Best aftermarket exhaust for ND?

Does anyone have specific brands/makes of exhaust that are good for the MX5 ND?

Anyone have experience of BBR’s? I have watched videos and and in some it sounds good but in others not so.

I don’t have much knowledge in aftermarket exhausts but have heard of Scorpion. And hopefully someone can chime in whether having a new manifold added that is of a higher spec and central exhaust section will make the exhaust sound/engine sound better?

For me the BBR SuperSport is by far the best sounding for the ND and trust me I’ve tried a few… If you plan on a manifold swop in the Future the GT will be the better option

If you plan to change the manifold then yes I would recommend the catted version. it may me a little more expensive but it will save you any MOT headaches in the future…

Is the sound of the BBR Supersport very different from their GT version?

My car is a Super 200 with catted manifold and full BBR exhaust with the GT silencer.

After reading various reviews I came to the conclusion that the Super Sport would sound amazing but be a bit much if you weren’t in the mood for it. I have no complaints about the sound of my setup. At the end of the day it’s a four pot engine so (arguably) you haven’t go the best starting point from a sound perspective.

Yeah I can’t decide between the two. Does the centre-section add anything to the noise?

The manifold and centre section will increase the noise. If you are not changing those then the Supersport will be ideal.

It had the Supersport, too loud for most people!

You have asked a lot of questions about different mods so it’s difficult to keep up with what you’ve actually done to the car. Why don’t you start a build thread in ‘readers rides’ so we can track your changes and see how they work out?

No mods yet. All planned in a couple of weeks - booked in. Engine at a later stage. Automatic so need to consider the transmission life. Also no LSD just open differential.
