Best Hampshire based garages for MOT & servicing

Good afternoon all!

  1. My model of MX-5 is: ND2
  2. I’m based near: Hampshire
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: reliable specialist in MOT & servicing.

My 2019 is due its MOT and will also require engine, gearbox, and diff oil to be replaced. As well as coolant and possibly brake fluid too - a decent service.

Would rather go to a local independent / enthusiast, than fork over £500 to my subpar main dealer.
Please let me know of any garages or specialists you use that can carry out the above! :slight_smile:

Hi all,

I am going to (try to) resurrect this thread. (Apologies if this is against the rules!) I have a 2021 ND 1.5 which is due it 5th service and MOT soon (13k miles). I am looking for something in Hampshire near Fareham. Local main dealer is quoting £360 for service only. Any recommendations based on experience would be welcome.

Hi Andy, you are about 2 hrs away from the mx-5 restorer, an independent mx-5 specialist garage in Pevensey, which comes highly recommended by many on here. The 5th service would normally include gearbox and diff oil changes according to the manual, although some change more frequently. Worth thinking about making the effort to use them. They did rust prevention on my ND2 and have provided good advice on other issues. https://themx5restorer.co.uk/
