Best paint for wiper arms?

I want to respray my scruffy looking wiper arms, what is the best paint to use? They aren’t rusty and the paint layer mostly OK, just badly faded and blotchy. I read that Hammerite spray metal paint takes forever to dry, which is no good if you need to get them back on the car asap and could rain the next day etc.

Try this place , I’m going to use their spray when I refurb my front wishbones on my NC.
Their sprays cover a wide range of products.
Customer service enquiries are also pretty good.

Just some satin black rattle can paint will do, it doesn’t have to be the expensive stuff either.

As Mick says.

I used this last time:

How much is a pair of new wiper arms? Might be cheap as a can of rattle paint?

(Plasti Dip is around £18 a can, although one can will obviously do a lot more than 2 wiper arms).

New arms are £50 per side, can of Plastikote is £9 so pretty big difference. The blades are cheap but not the arms.

Toolstation do a 500ml can of procote satin black for 5.99. As long as you scotchpad them before you paint should last a few years with a few light coats. I’ve even used it on brake calipers before and they were fine, great stuff.

I just did mine with the same stuff. It has a good reputation, but there are rumours that the formulation has been changed and it now needs ~3 coats where 1 would have covered previously. Newer cans have a paper label.

It did need 3 coats before the sharp corners on the back of the wiper arms stopped ‘grinning’ through.

Was cheap(ish) at ECP, and so far; so good.

I’ve found Halfords own brand spray paint to be very good. As well as their coloured paints, I’ve found their etch primer to be excellent.

Do club members still get a 10% discount code?

You’re close - Halfords Club discount is 8%.

Is Plastidip suitable for this? Sure I’ve seen videos where a benefit is that it’s relatively easy to peel off!?

I wouldn’t recommend PlastiDip for this type of application, personally.

Whatever you get you can use it on the window quarterlight as well. Mine are awful…
