I have an import MX5 Mk1 with the tan leather interior and I need to replace the roof. I’m looking at getting a tan one which I think will go well with the interior.
Are there any manufacturers/suppliers who are accepted as having the best product for fit quality etc as I want the process to be as pain free as possible!

Depending on where you are in the country you can try Jack Smith in Swansea, they did a good job on ours and I think I’ve seen them recommended elsewhere on the forum. They fitted ours in a few hours while we had a wander around the town and sea front.

I want to fit it myself for the experience and also I’m right down in the south west of Cornwall so there’s no one really local!
Next challenge is to find a hardtop!
Don’t fit a Mk2 top to a Mk1 frame. They are different.
If you want a glass window buy a second hand MK2 frame
Apologies if it’s an obvious question but, I take it that the frame fits exactly the same and apart from physically changing it, there’s nothing else that I need to do?
