I’m going to be changing my manifold but don’t want to spend a fortune (I am from Yorkshire after all ).
Ideally I’d buy a 2nd hand well known quality one (e.g. IL Motorsport) but I’ve not seen any come up for sale so I’m now looking at the more budget friendly options. From what I’ve read the 2 options are either Gravity or Malian but believe the Gravity is slightly better quality and fit.
I’d love to hear peoples thoughts and experiences?
Thanks
Richard
My model of MX-5 is: 2007 2.0 Z-Sport
I’m based near: Leeds/York
I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: Decat manifolds
I have a Gravity back box fitted - can’t fault the quality.
They had the manifolds on show when I went to collect the back box - they looked well made.
Make sure you have a friendly mot tester locally.
If you get one who knows the MX5 and sees the manifold cat is missing - it may fail even though it passes emissions.
Thanks! And I did wonder about the Gravity back box at a later day too. What’s the sound like and do you have any other mods?
I know what you mean about the manifold obviously looking different under the bonnet so it’s a pity the standard heat shield doesn’t bolt back on. It also made me think about increased heat in the engine bay too.

It’s by all accounts a difficult replacement so you have to pretty dedicated to take that chance at MOT time. My son-in-law use to switch out the exhaust on his Subaru, but that a breeze in comparison.
