Biker or ex-Biker ?

I have met quite a few MX5 drivers who are bikers or have swapped their bikes for 5’s.

So just curious, show us your bikes !

And sold this (much to my regret, the new owner was so keen to buy it he sent a driver all the way from Prague to collect it!):

Very much still a (born again) biker, recently purchased a BMW GS1200, and have a Yamaha TT600R for trail riding, would post pictures if I could workout how

Oh, I think I’ve done it

Had a bike since I was 16 with one 3 year gap (due to buying a house) and now have a bus pass but still a biker…

Bit of a sore subject for me right now -  have been on and off bikes for about 16 years - during that time my ‘toy’ was either a 5 or a bike, in fact at one point I was lucky enough to have both for a spell.

My most recent bike was a Triumph Speed Triple - and last year I had a Harley 48, but always felt I was pushing my luck - either a ban, wheelchair, or worse. So decided back in June to sell the bike, hang up my helmet and gloves and get another 5.

Never saying never, but right now, despite the recent nice weather and seeing lots of bikes out and about, it’s four wheels from now on.

Really did love the Trumpet though…

In answer to your question - ex-biker.

I’m quite a late starter at the age of 39 with regard bikes. I got the Honda February 2015 just to beat the traffic on the daily commute, something it turns out I should have done 20 years ago! I got the bug and passed my full test in April this year. Got the BMW to use instead of the Honda once I got my licence then bought the Suzuki because someone at work was selling it, it’s Japanese and it’s gourgous! I currently still have all 3…

Current biker - Now on a Honda ST1300 Pan European but had lots of bikes over the last 45yrs. The Pan now has 40k on it from new after we bought it in 2009, mostly from long distance touring around Europe and down to Greece every year. The bottom pic was my previous bike wandering along the Route Napoleon.

70’s and 80’s Kawasaki triples and Yamaha RD’s not quick by today.s missiles but great times.

This is mine, ST1300, had it 18 months. Not managed to do a long stint on it yet, but i’m working on it for next year.

Started off with a Kawasaki zephyr 750, didnt have it long. Then a Deauville 650, got written off

My first Pan was an 1100, great bike, another Deauville 650 now the present pan

Nice thread…liking the pics and stories

Edit: I should add that I was a biker many years ago but nothing more exciting than  Suzuki GT 250 and Honda super dream 250n. Really enjoyed riding them tho!

Various makes and models in my bike history

Lambretta Li125/Honda CB100 then a long break before

Cagiva 600/Fazer x2/Hornet x 2/BMW650 x 2/Versys/ER6f/BMW 650Dakar

to a Suzuki VStrom

Sorry no pic’s as I’m a bit of a luddite with computers

Always had bikes and still member in 2 weekly meet clubs (One of them is slowly turning into a convertible club) ')

Currents bikes are! Suzuki GSXR K5 1000 which I have Street fightered to a flat barred solo monster. An Aprilia Caponord for longer jaunts with the missus. And finally a Ducacti 906 paso (a classic bike that only gets out 1 or twice a year now.

In addition to my 2014 2litre sport the bikes consist of:

1998 Yamaha R1; 1997 Yamaha Thunderace; 2007 Yamaha XT660Z tenere and 2 Yanaha XT600E trail bikes.

Next year I will be replacing the mx 5. Would like to try something different. Just unable to find anything thats fits my personal requirements better than the 2litre sport nd. Not really a hardship

Can never work out this photobucket thing  . I have a 1999 Thunderace (blue and black as they are the fastest M7ART. I also have 2 x 2009 Repsol CBR 1000 RR Fireblades. Always been a biker. Also had previously, Kawasaki ZX6 J1, Kawasaki ZX9 '02, Suzuki GSXR 1000 K1

I’m in the ex biker camp now as I sold my last bike to buy my 5. I enjoyed my last bike a lot (the Yamaha) but I wish I’d thrown a blanket over the Honda and kept it.

Maybe I’ll become a reborn, reborn biker

Do it! That 'Blade is nice by the way. Can never beat the feeling of riding
